It would appear that the Democratic Primary is winding down. Reports have that some really big-names are lining up to throw their support behind Barack Obama. Yesterday, former candidate and extremely white guy, Sen. Chris Dodd officially endorsed Obama. Here. Senator Dodd’s endorsement came with a thinly veiled plea to Hillary to step aside for the good of the party. It would appear that the votes in Texas and Ohio, collectively known as “TexaHo”, are slowly coming around to the idea that it’s time to send Hillary packing. In fact, according to polling, if you believe polling anymore, Texas has switched allegiances and now is firmly in the hands of Obama. Here. The lead in Ohio is slipping away by the minute and PolitiPorn doubts that the debate helped Hillary at all.
Now, the rhetoric of the Clinton campaign is being co-opted wholesale by the Republican Machine. Brit Hume of Fox News did a piece just this morning questioning whether Obama would live up to the talk of bipartisan cooperation. This analysis was done by comparison of his voting record and the conclusion was that he’s all talk because he failed to join the Gang of 14 (lead by McCain coincidentally). Would the “Gang of 15″ sounded as good in sound bites as the “Gang of 14″? More importantly, shouldn’t Obama, as an influential African-American, be setting an example and persuading the black youth of American to not join gangs? Gangs can only lead to violence and once in it’s hard to get out.
The Republican attack on Obama was partially unveiled yesterday. Apparently, it’s a two pronged attack. First, remind the public that his middle name is “Hussein” and second, remind folks that John McCain is white. In the coming weeks, PolitiPorn will examine the FOX/Republican attack strategy, but for now we need to point out something we were very disturbed by yesterday.
At a McCain rally yesterday in Cincinnati, a city known for its racial tolerance, McCain was introduced by a local Sheet-Wearing, Right-Wing Radio Shock Jock, Bill Cunningham. Here. Mr. Cunningham, no relation to Richie or Joanie, criticized Obama for allowing his parents to label him with the middle name “Hussein”. To which the McCain audience cheered. Billy Boy, with his man panties clearly in a bunch at this point, went on to note the love affair the media has with Obama, again reminding the audience of Obama’s middle name. Why the middle name thing? I mean I understand that there is a segment of society that won’t vote for Obama because of his middle name, but come on. Didn’t we all stop making fun of people’s middle names in grade school? Now for the record, John McCain’s middle name is “Sidney” so we can all start calling him “El Sid.”
Now AFTER the rally McCain did repudiate the statements made by the rabid racist Bill Cunningham and told a collected group of reporters that he was unaware of what the aspiring Grand Dragon had said until after the event. So we’re to believe that McCain couldn’t hear the guy in his dressing room? I call bullshit on this one. The McCain camp knew what this cross-burning punk was all about. One need only go to Wikipedia, (HERE) and see that Mr. Cunningham has quite a reputation for, hmm how do I put it, bigotry, narrow mindedness, flat out racism. No, McCain’s folks just wanted to simply remind the voters that he’s the white guy running this year. His repudiation of Cunningham’s remarks is kind of like toasting a marshmallow over a burning cross and then saying that you thought it was just two logs set at right angles. My mistake, sorry.
This is what we have to look forward to folks.

Let me get this straight - you’re amazed that a “shock jock” acted that way? Please! How come you didn’t mention the Oscars? I could have sworn I heard John Stewart say the same thing in his opening statements and added that his last name “does rhyme with Osama”. He got laughs - you’re playing the racist card. I guess ’sense of humor’ is no longer fashionable unless you’re a Democrat speaking to crowd where the majority are rich Democrats.
I also expect to see more of “Obama doesn’t respect the American flag” coming up.
JoMama - point taken. However, Cunningham has a history and all I needed to do was look him up on Wikipedia. I’d think and expect that the McCain outfit is bit more sophisticated then our little operation here at PolitiPorn. Then, for Sidney McCain to try and distance himself from Cunningham’s staements after the fact and not to the gathered audience who applauded the rhetoric is disingenuous on his part. It was calculated to appeal to the xenophobic base element of the GOP. Interestingly, it also gives FOX a way of running it over and over again, and disclaiming the crap with “oh but John McCain doesn’t endorse it, wink wink”
I agree with you to chose Cunningham was not a good choice. Whoever it was on Senator John McCains’ staff that approved such a bone head choice should be let go. He can always work for JOhn Stewart.
so this is gay that we got a black presidant who by the way is going to get effin shot we were better off with pailin although she is a tramp. what the fuck to do
