Word on the street is that Condi wants a promotion and she’s gonna use John McCain to get it. How long before we see the McCain/Rice ‘08 signs? According to those close to Condi, we shouldn’t expect her to be sticking around D.C. after next January no matter which party wins the White House. Here. But why not?
Shouldn’t someone who has been given so much by her country, want to give back in a more meaningful way? Wouldn’t that be achieved by being Vice President to McCain’s president?
Think about it, the woman has been Secretary of State for some time now and I can’t think of one meaningful accomplishment she’s had in that time. She’s been the butt of quite few jokes and all. My favorite:
Bush walks into Condi’s office and he’s obviously drunk. Under his arm he’s carrying a pig. He marches straight up to Condi’s desk and says, “Here’s the pig I’ve been having sex with for the last 6 years.” Condi replies, “that’s disgusting.” Bush then retorts “Shut-up, I wasn’t talking to you.”
But seriously my PolitiPornsters, Condi needs to put in a little more service. She’s been CHOSEN to serve in various capacities in government and academia. I’d like to see if she could get elected. Let the public actually voice its opinion of Rice.
I can’t imagine the Republicans wouldn’t want to put her on the ticket. She is the ultimate twofer. She’s black and she’s a she. If elected she’d be the first black and the first she to be Vice President. The Republicans would just be daring the Democrats to pull the race card or the V-card.
She’s already proven she can stand up to tough questioning. One need only look at video of testimony before the 9/11 Commission. Even when the facts were against her, she merely smiled and took up time saying absolutely nothing. That’s the mark of a true politician and good one to boot.
All said and done, I wish Condi would run. We’d all be watching history in the making no matter which side wins. On the one side you might have the first African-American President or the first Female President. Add Condi and the Republican have a historic pairing as well. Condi – potentially the first African-American and Female Vice President, then you’ve McCain, who if elected would be the first person elected President who actually signed the Mayflower Compact.
