All to often, politics & suicide walk hand and hand. You’ve got Vince Foster (supposed Hillary boy toy), Budd Dwyer (the muse for the song “Hey Man Nice Shot), and many others. Now we can add to that list “Deborah Jean Palfrey”, the DC Madam. The infamous DC Madam has become yet another footnote in the tragic tale of Politicide.
I am certain there was a champagne toast at the Vitter household Thursday night. The reminder of his hypocritical transgression had taken herself out to the spotlight for good. There won’t be any ‘tell-all’ novel and there won’t be the obligatory interview with Oprah or Oprah’s gal-pal Gayle. No discussion of Senator Vitter’s favorite positions on The View. The spark that could have set-off that incendiary device has been snuffed out for good.
Rest assured the Vitters were not the only political family uncorking the bubbly to celerate the news. The late-night tinkling of champagne glasses most likely reverberated throughout Capitol Hill and Northwest, DC last night. The list of folks rumored to be on the clientele list was substantial. The rumors include Dick Cheney, Sam Donaldson, and on and on.
I wonder if the Vitters will attend the funeral? Perhaps, they’ll find it in their hearts to send flowers. I’ll bet that most of the flowers sent will come with a note attached that reads, “Thank you! Love, 202-867-5309.”

This is awesome. I want to write about it too!

I have heard several people say that this is not suicide…hmmmm. many more names were to come out and too risky so a faked suicide maybe? Very funny. :)N
This blog begins with some legitimate questions but then quickly dives into the sulliness of the very distasteful acts seems to dispise.
Gossiping about who may or may not be on a list. And the thought of someone toasting their glasses to the death of a woman who’s elderly mother found her hanging by the neck at her own home. Imagin for just one second the anguish of that mother!
Then to have another poster even say that these tragic events are some how funny…
What has happened to our society today that we relish in the demise of those we perceive to have been “worse than we are.”
I guess I am just too new at this blogging sport to fully comprehend the joy anyone could find in this.
