If asked to whistle one tune, most folks would either chose to whistle “Whistle While you Work” or “The Andy Griffith Theme Song”. Yesterday, we lost the composer of the the Andy Griffith whistling tune, Earle H. Hagen, he was 88.
Beside that famous tune, Mr. Hagen was responsible for other memorable theme songs for early television shows, including such shows as That Girl, The Dick Van Dyke Show, & Gomer Pyle, USMC.
Instead of a moment of silence, let’s all take time today to close our eyes and vision Andy & little Opie making their way to the fishing hole with rods & reels in hand. I promise, if you can picture that then the tune will come and soon you’ll be whistling a tribute to the departed Mr. Hagen.

It worked. How bizarre.
