What (the FUCK!) Happened
Scott McClellan, Former White House Spokesman and Michelin Tire Baby
By Bâtard, PolitiPorn Literary Critic Extraordinaire
Well I just got done reading the worst goddamn smear piece that has ever been written. Yes I’m referring to decades old What Happened by Scott McClellan. This eager patsy for republican fury is a misunderstood (and poorly written) account of fleshy faced Scott ‘bellen McClellan’s days at the White House. One thing that gets lost in the hysteria is that this book does not really throw a beating on our child-like emperor for his handling of the Iraq war. McClellan’s main beef seems to be the leaking of the CIA agent by Rove and crew.
The problem with this as a hit job is that 80% of the book is spank material (e.g., PolitiPorn) for anyone still buying the confused hayseed routine from Bush, and don’t kid yourselves, McClellan wasn’t giving lip service to the boss. First off he slams Cheney, who would have been in charge of reading this book to the president, and besides, no matter how delicately Bush was treated in the book, he hates revelations (‘member what happens in Revelations).
The best point this book makes is essentially its theme. The spectre of a “permanent campaign” is well documented here and should strike fear in the heart of every red-blooded American. Rowdy Scott asserts that Clinton set the precedence and Bush just followed. The Clinton White House occurred during one of my black outs so I cannot confirm or deny, but he could be right. His insights into the mentality behind the ‘permanent campaign’ is worth the price of the book alone, even if you don’t get the Bush slamming you so desperately crave.
Should McClellan have stepped up during his tenure and blasted the White House? No goddamn it. He was an employee. This president demands loyalty and he usually gets it. If he asked me to be spokesman tomorrow I would be describing his wisdom and shrewd foreign policy decisions with the loving pride and bold objectivity of a lonely grandfather. That’s the job… to get out the President’s message. Maybe I understand loyalty differently than everyone else, but Scotty took an oath to this country… an oath to do his fucking job. While you work for the president, no matter how stupid he is, you belong to him.
The book is a must read because it actually maintains objectivity. You red staters that let this administration get away with leaking Plame’s identity should just burn your flags, join a commune or cult and be done with it.
I don’t want to give away the ending here, but I will. Cheney tricks Bush into secretly recording a Doobie Brother’s concert. (30+ joke)

I always just considered that position a PR position. I don’t understand why ANYONE takes what the Press Secretary says as hallowed writ. He isn’t a news organization who needs to “check his sources”; he is just the mouthpiece for the White House.
Sorry CNN, Fox, NY Times, WaPo, etc. Ya’ll still failed.
Aint that the truth! Anyone who sweats from his head as much as old Scotty did has to be lying. Look, Bush bashing, thats for infants. He’s an easy target. Lets grownups take on someone who can manage to walk and chew gum at the same time! Better yet, wouldn’t it be nice to elect someone who could actually have such a useful skill?
Loyalty is a myth in Washington. Its kinda like saying “The Cheque is in the Mail”. No one really believes it …. do they?
Wow. Great comments. Your goddam right Hayden. They all fucking missed it. Expect for Helen Thomas, God Bless Helen Thomas.
